Western Australia, the country's geographically largest state, is home to around 100 pipe organs including the largest church organ in Australasia.
While most of the state's pipe organs are housed in churches in and around Perth, there is also a small number of instruments in south-western regional WA, including the unique instrument in the Benedictine Abbey in New Norcia.
Many instruments in WA have been built by east-coast Australian organ builders, including the large pipe organs in the Perth Concert Hall and St George's Cathedral and St Mary's Cathedral in Perth.
There are also some fine pipe organs in educational institutions in Perth, including the large instrument in Winthrop Hall at the University of Western Australia.
